PARADE

“I Shot Him” fires the opening shot of a bold new chapter

A collective that treats the studio like a crime scene — everyone leaves fingerprints.

Eight minds, one shot

PARADE aren’t a band so much as a weather system. The South London collective — producer Callum, singer Fiorella, saxophonist Isaac, producer Jago, songwriter Louie, multi-instrumentalist Owen, bassist Toby aka CATO and sound artist Yottie — make music the way a crowd makes noise: all at once, from every direction, and somehow coherent.

“I Shot Him” is the Robert Altman-inspired lead single from their new mixtape Catchphrase — punk guitar lines tangle with brass and electronics; nothing sits still long enough to be categorized.

Catchphrase incoming

The mixtape follows 2025’s debut Lightning Hit the Trees, made in a single week during a residency at 160 DL studios — you can hear the immediacy in every bar.

  • The title — Bold, cinematic, and impossible to ignore.
  • The ensemble — Brass, punk guitar, electronics and voices stacked like a traffic jam that somehow grooves.
  • The method — One week, one studio, no overthinking.

The Weekly Ten says

“I Shot Him” is the sound of a collective hitting its stride — messier than a band, more alive than a project.
