“Hands Tied” holds vulnerability in an open palm

Vulnerability, delivered without a flinch.

Quiet songs, loud feelings

Emma Ogier started writing songs in her Houston bedroom during the pandemic; a few years later she’s signed to Lost Highway Records with a debut album on the way and a voice that stops rooms. “Hands Tied” is the newest single from Fly 1111 (out November 11), and it’s the kind of song that makes stillness feel dramatic.

Produced by David Baron, the song leans on melody and nerve rather than volume — intimate, deeply human writing that keeps slipping between folk, pop and something harder to name.

Fly 1111 is coming

The single follows “Rocksteady/HeavyMetal” and “Keep You,” and the campaign is gathering gravity: a Dominic Fike collaboration, an Austin City Limits debut, and a fall tour supporting Hovvdy that rolls through Phoenix’s Valley Bar on October 23.

  • The voice — Clear, unforced, and completely herself. No affectation, no armor.
  • The pen — Self-written, like everything she releases. The honesty is the hook.
  • The trajectory — Independent singles in 2023, Lost Highway in 2026, Red Rocks in November. Watch this space.

The Weekly Ten says

“Hands Tied” is a small song with a big center — the sound of an artist arriving exactly as herself.
